Wolfe Herd to Speak Alongside Melinda Gates at SXSW 2018

Whitney Wolfe Herd, founder and CEO of Bumble, is set to speak at South by Southwest (SXSW) in March.

The young entrepreneur had a banner 2017, increasing Bumble’s user base significantly and making regular headlines.

The event, hosted in Austin, celebrates the “convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries”.

2018 will feature a diverse set of speakers, including author and The Atlantic journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates, psychologist Esther Perel and Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell.

Monday saw the announcement of keynote speaker Melinda Gates, who will cover the work done by Pivotal Ventures since its inception.

The organisation performs a variety of functions that will likely resonate with Wolfe Herd, supporting women in STEM fields and investigating the gender pay gap.

The 2017 edition of the conference saw Dr. Jill Biden & then USA Vice President Joe Biden among the keynote speakers.

As well as talks, it features a range of exhibitions. A gaming expo, wellness expo and virtual cinema are among the draws at the event this year.

There are a number of lounges, parties and meetups at the event for professionals seeking to network.

SXSW runs from the 9th to the 18th of March 2018.
