Whitney Wolfe Herd Added to Imagine Entertainment’s Board
Whitney Wolfe Herd is the first woman to be added to Imagine Entertainment’s Board of Directors.
The founder and CEO of Bumble will be a non-voting member of the board.
She will play an important role in suggesting new ways that the film and television company can connect with their audience.
Imagine is particularly hopeful that Wolfe Herd will bring an original perspective of human connection and storytelling to its productions.
Chairman of Imagine, Brian Grazer said to Deadline Hollywood: “I deeply admire Whitney as an original thinker and visionary. She is a brilliant young entrepreneur who not only created an incredible global company, but also an empowered and strong community.
“Whitney brings relevancy and a fresh perspective to our business. We are honored that she has agreed to join our board.”
Bumble is well known as a company focused on female empowerment. The fact that Wolfe Herd is the first woman on Imagine’s board is very much in keeping with her app’s branding.
Speaking about her appointment, she said in Deadline Hollywood: “Imagine and its founders have inspired generations worldwide, setting a standard for cinematic storytelling that is unrivalled in the industry.
“They’ve transcended to create timeless pieces of art that champion the underdog, challenge the status quo and ignite curiosity. It’s an honor to join the team and collaborate on new ways for people to be entertained and empowered by their favorite stories.”
Whitney Wolfe Herd was named in the TIME 100: The Most Influential People of 2018.
