Whitney Wolfe Herd has marked her 30th birthday with a glamorous long weekend on the small Italian island of Capri.
The Bumble CEO spent several days celebrating with family members and a number of her high-profile friends. The festivities included boat rides, fireworks, al fresco lunches and a black-tie party.
She was presented with an enormous heart-shaped sponge cake, which was covered in strawberries and topped with 30 red candles.
In attendance were Bumble’s in-house creatives Sara and Erin Foster, as well as fashion designer Rachel Zoe, bakery entrepreneur and journalist Elizabeth Chambers and former MLB professional Huston Street.
The Mediterranean location is just 30km away from Positano, where Wolfe Herd married her husband Michael Herd in April 2017.
The couple announced last month that they are expecting their first child, a baby boy due in November. The announcement caused Wolfe Herd to rethink the parental benefits that Bumble employees are currently getting.
She has pledged to include a dedicated childcare space in Bumble’s new headquarters where a professional will look after employees’ children while they are at work.
Forbes named Wolfe Herd as the 72nd richest self-made American woman a month ago, with an estimated net worth of $290 million. Bumble partner and tennis star Serena Williams became the first athlete to make the list in 80th position.
