Whitney Wolfe Herd to Speak at Forbes’ Under 30 Summit
Whitney Wolfe Herd has been unveiled as a new speaker at Forbes’ Under 30 Summit.
The event will be held in Boston and expects to bring together over 7,000 young entrepreneurs from around the world. More than 200 speakers are scheduled to appear, including business leaders, investors and pop culture icons.
Wolfe Herd joins the ‘Women@Forbes Under 30: Closing the Investment Gap’ event, hosted on 30th September. This occasion is set to bring together young women who are paving the way for future generations, and give them solutions and advice on how to progress in their respective industries.
Forbes explains: “A generation of entrepreneurial women is on the move. They are starting more businesses than men and performing better than startups with all-male teams.
“Yet out of the $85 billion in venture capital invested in 2017, just 2% went to women founders, and of that, even less went to minority female entrepreneurs.”
The summit will take place at various venues around the city of Boston between 30th September and 3rd October. The City Hall Plaza is going to be transformed into a central hub for the event, where attendees can network, view demonstrations and socialise with refreshments.
At the end of 2017, Forbes published a profile on Wolfe Herd and named her on the prestigious ‘30 under 30’ list. In July 2018, the same magazine estimated that her net worth was somewhere in the region of $230 million.
