Bumble Launches YouTube Advice Series

Bumble has introduced a new YouTube series called “Bee Line” to address dating questions and concerns among Gen Z and Millennial users. The monthly show will feature a rotating cast of talent, with comedian and influencer Jake Shane hosting the first episode. Users can submit questions via social media prompts or a dedicated hotline, and the series will be promoted on Instagram and TikTok.

The launch includes two branded phone booth activations in New York City and Los Angeles, where people can submit questions in person on June 12. The content strategy reflects Bumble’s broader efforts to rebuild user confidence and engagement as the company faces ongoing challenges. In Q1 2026, Bumble’s paying user base dropped 23.1% year-over-year, contributing to a 14.1% decline in total revenue. The Bumble app specifically saw revenue fall 14.4% to $172.7 million.

Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd has indicated plans for a reworked, AI-enabled app later this year aimed at improving personalization and helping users move more quickly to in-person dates. The “Bee Line” series is part of a push to position the platform as a resource for dating advice and emotional support rather than solely a matching tool.

Branded content and creator-led series have become common tactics for reaching younger audiences. Bumble previously launched “Luv2SeeIt,” a series focused on Black dating experiences. The new show addresses common issues such as dating anxiety, modern relationship dynamics, and the challenges of building connections in a digital-first environment.

As Gen Z reports lower socialization and dating frequency, advice-oriented programming may help rebuild interest. However, the success of “Bee Line” will depend on audience reception and whether it leads to measurable increases in app activity or retention, given Bumble’s recent decreases in paid users over the past year or so.
