GDI Launches Global Editorial Board – 5 Founding Members Announced
Global Dating Insights (GDI) has announced the launch of its Editorial Board, bringing together a select group of senior leaders from across the global online dating and social discovery ecosystem.
Founding members of the GDI Global Editorial Board will include:
- Michael O’Sullivan, Founder Hub People
- Tegan Broomfield, Founder Evntful
- David Vermeulen, Founder Inner Circle
- Nicky Wake, Founder Chapter 2 Dating
- Claire Renier, Head of Communications, happn
The Editorial Board has been established to help guide GDI’s editorial direction as the industry continues to evolve at pace.
As online dating platforms face increasing scrutiny around trust and safety, regulation, monetisation, AI, and user wellbeing, the Board will provide experienced, balanced perspectives to ensure GDI’s coverage remains relevant, informed, and genuinely useful to founders, operators, investors, and partners.
What the Editorial Board Will Do
The GDI Editorial Board will act as a strategic sounding board, supporting the team on the themes, topics, and issues that matter most to the industry.
Members will help identify emerging trends, highlight under-reported challenges, and provide insight into how operators are navigating growth, regulation, and innovation across different markets.
Importantly, the Board is not a governance body and does not influence day-to-day editorial decisions.
Instead, it is designed as a light-touch, high-impact group, offering perspective rather than prescription, and helping GDI stay closely aligned with the realities of running and scaling dating and social discovery businesses.
Supporting Better Industry Conversation
Through regular check-ins and informal input, Editorial Board members will help ensure GDI continues to ask the right questions of the industry — not just the easy or popular ones.
This includes encouraging thoughtful discussion around trust and safety, inclusion, data ethics, platform responsibility, and long-term sustainability, alongside growth, funding, and M&A.
By drawing on the lived experience of operators and leaders, GDI aims to elevate industry dialogue beyond headlines and soundbites, and towards more practical, experience-led insight that reflects how the sector actually operates.
Looking Ahead
The launch of the Editorial Board reflects GDI’s ongoing commitment to being a credible, independent voice for the global dating industry.
As the platform continues to expand its coverage across news, events, research, and advisory services, the Board will play an important role in ensuring that GDI remains connected to the needs and priorities of the ecosystem it serves.
Further updates, including announcements of individual Editorial Board members, will be shared in the coming weeks.
