Grindr Begins 2026 ‘Rides Again’ Tour With Mighty Hoopla
Grindr is returning as an official partner for the Mighty Hoopla festival in 2026, creating a large dedicated “Global Gayborhood” area within the event. The activation includes interactive experiences, merchandise, giveaways, DJ sets, UK drag queen performances, and the return of its iconic “Bussy” branded vehicle. The Bussy will feature a professional photo station to help attendees take high-quality “grid-ready” photos for their profiles.
The partnership marks the start of Grindr’s European “Rides Again” tour for 2026, which will continue across London, Cannes, Amsterdam, Brighton, and Madrid during Pride season. Now in its third year globally and second year in Europe, the tour aims to extend queer community connection from the app into real-world experiences.
Mighty Hoopla is a popular UK festival known for its inclusive and celebratory atmosphere. Grindr’s presence is designed to provide festivalgoers with spaces for social interaction and entertainment tailored to LGBTQ+ audiences. The “Bussy” has become a recognizable element of Grindr’s offline activations in previous years.
This move reflects a broader industry trend of dating apps investing in live events and cultural partnerships to combat user fatigue and strengthen community ties. While Grindr remains the dominant platform in the gay dating space, it faces competition from apps like Sniffies and newer entrants emphasizing privacy and niche experiences. Offline activations such as this help maintain visibility and engagement with users beyond the app interface.
