Hatched Goes Live Nationwide, Updates ‘Golden Egg’ Matching

Hatched, the personality-based dating game app, is now live across the entire United States. This nationwide launch opens the door for daters in every region to experience Hatched’s unique approach to matchmaking, which prioritizes personality and shared values over conventional profiles.

Originally launched back in November 2022, Hatched was always designed to be an app focused on meaningful connections. The platform has seen a lot of success in recent months, especially with the general shift towards more intentional and connection-based dating trends in the last few months.

In a statement about the nationwide launch, a representative of Hatched said: “We couldn’t be more excited about our nationwide expansion. With winter approaching (a season that traditionally sees a spike in dating app usage), and between thousands of waitlist signups and exciting product updates, we felt now was the perfect time to roll out Hatched nationally. We’re excited to see these new markets grow and to help even more people create meaningful online connections.”

Previously available only in select launch cities, the app has gradually managed to gain more ground state by state, with its move into Florida taking place roughly a year ago. This nationwide expansion means that users across the U.S. are free to use the app at their own pace, with further expansion likely under consideration if the platform ever grows big enough to spread outside the United States.

Alongside this, Hatched – known for its unique and engaging user experience on top of its nationwide expansion across the U.S. – has announced a change to its popular “Golden Egg” feature. For over 12 months, this feature has played a fundamental role in connecting users with highly qualified data-driven matches after they answer a series of 50 in-app questions.

Hatched employs a gamified, quiz-like approach where users answer questions with their matches, leading to more meaningful connections. Users receive a match card that flips to reveal a question and if both users answer the question identically, a quarter of their Egg (Match) cracks open, unveiling a portion of their match’s photo and bio.

Upon answering four questions the same, users achieve a “fully-hatched”, compatible match, sending them to a chat room to begin a deeper conversation. Users also have the option to “egg on” their match at any point during the four-question quiz, allowing both parties to bypass a question that they have answered differently and proceed to the next level (for those looking for a more “opposites attract” type of thing!).

This engaging user-flow has resonated widely with users, providing them with an enjoyable way to learn about their matches and themselves, creating a strong foundation for more meaningful connections and discussion. It also helps in ensuring that a user’s daily matches are more compatible thanks to the app’s effective matchmaking algorithm.

However, in response to user feedback, Hatched has made an exciting update: starting now, users will receive a Golden Egg after answering just five questions thanks to enhancements to its algorithm. This change allows users to access “fully-hatched” matches more quickly, adding in a “fast-date” aspect to the experience while maintaining the beloved slow-dating user flow that the Hatched community has come to love.

“Our goal has always been to provide an unrivaled matchmaking-like experience but in a fun and easy-to-use mobile app, and this update reflects our commitment to listening to our users and enhancing our experience based on their feedback,” said Mitch Alterman, CEO and Co-Founder at Hatched. “We’re thrilled to offer Golden Eggs more frequently, ensuring we provide the most fun, fulfilling, and effective online dating experience on the market today.”
