LinkedIn Expands AI-Powered Conversational Search to All Users
LinkedIn has rolled out its AI-powered conversational search feature to all users after initially launching it for Premium members in November 2025.
The updated search tool allows users to enter natural language queries instead of relying on exact keywords. The system uses AI to understand context and intent, surfacing more relevant profiles, pages, and posts based on broader descriptions of what the user is looking for.
LinkedIn has also improved its search functionality in several ways. Users can now search using nicknames or with spelling variations. Search results have become more personalized, drawing on a user’s profile information and past searches. Verification badges are now displayed directly in results to help highlight credible profiles.
Another new addition is AI-generated summaries that appear next to profiles in search results. These summaries explain why a particular member is being shown, particularly when the query includes a specific job title or company name. The feature is currently rolling out to all U.S. members.
The changes reflect a wider industry shift toward more conversational and intuitive search experiences. LinkedIn stated that the updates aim to improve discovery and make it easier for users to find relevant connections and opportunities on the platform.
While AI-driven search can increase the range of results, outcomes may vary depending on query complexity and data quality. The company noted it will continue testing and refining the feature based on user behavior.
