RAW Introduces Emotion-Tracking Wearable for Couples

The dating app RAW, known for its focus on authenticity and unfiltered connections, is expanding its reach into wearable technology. In collaboration with Queens Tech, the company has developed the RAW Ring, a device designed to track and share emotional states between partners in real time.

The ring, which comes in a pair, monitors heart rate, vital signs, and voice cues to detect emotional shifts. According to RAW’s official statement, “Keep you and your partner’s hearts beating as one. Feel their emotions, share your vibe, and stay connected in ways that go beyond words.” The company claims the wearable can identify emotions such as stress, anxiety, and arousal, offering users deeper insights into their partner’s mood.

RAW co-founder Marina Anderson further emphasized the device’s purpose, stating, “When something’s up, you’ll know. Simple as that.” The concept aims to take relationship transparency to the next level, positioning digital emotion tracking as a new frontier in commitment.

However, the introduction of such technology raises ethical and privacy concerns. While RAW insists that the ring “understands context” – differentiating between exercise-induced heart rate spikes and emotional reactions – there is potential for misinterpretation. Critics have also highlighted concerns about potential misuse with the tracking techology doubling as a surveillance tool, although these issues may be addressed closer to the ring’s launch.

The RAW Ring is expected to launch in late 2025 or early 2026, though pricing details have yet to be announced. While it may seem like an odd left turn for RAW, the idea behind it falls in line with the platform’s focus on genuine connections anad being “real” – and very few dating platforms have been able to take this kind of gamble on a wearable product before.
