Reddit Expands AI-Powered Ad Tools for App Advertisers
Reddit has introduced several updates to its advertising platform aimed at improving performance for app promotion campaigns. The changes, announced on May 20, 2026, expand access to AI-driven tools and introduce new measurement options.
The most significant update makes Max campaigns available for app promotions. These AI-guided campaigns automate targeting, creative selection, placements, and budget allocation. Reddit says Max campaigns can predict the value of every ad impression to optimize delivery. Early tests showed an average 15% reduction in cost per acquisition (CPA) and a 28% increase in results volume. One advertiser, DocMorris, reported a 20% lower cost per install and 73% lower purchase CPA using the tool.
Reddit is also broadening availability of App Event Optimization, which moves beyond optimizing for installs to focus on valuable in-app actions such as purchases or sign-ups. The feature uses machine learning to target users more likely to complete meaningful actions and has delivered an average 22% improvement in CPA for participating developers.
Additionally, Reddit is testing a new first-party attribution reporting solution in beta. This tool displays Reddit’s own attribution data alongside third-party MMP and SKAdNetwork last-touch reporting within Ads Manager, giving advertisers a more complete view of performance.
These updates come as Reddit’s user base continues to grow. The platform reached approximately 126.8 million daily active users in Q1 2026. With its highly engaged, topic-focused communities, Reddit is positioning itself as an increasingly viable channel for app marketers seeking quality installs and conversions.
