Seeking.com Introduces AI-Powered Selfie Verification
Seeking.com is strengthening its security measures with the introduction of the Selfie Liveness Check, an AI-driven verification tool aimed at reducing fraud and ensuring user authenticity. The luxury dating platform announced the rollout of this new feature as part of its ongoing efforts to create a safer and more trustworthy environment for its members.
The Selfie Liveness Check uses artificial intelligence to confirm that a live person is present during the verification process. It then compares the real-time image with the user’s profile photos to verify authenticity. According to Seeking.com, over a third of active members have already been approved through this system, which is designed to set a new standard for security in online dating.
“Since stepping into my role as Co-CEO, enhancing safety and trust on Seeking.com has been a key focus,” said Dana Rosewall, Co-CEO of Seeking.com. “The rollout of our Selfie Liveness Check marks a significant step forward in protecting our community, reducing fraudulent activity, and ensuring members can connect with confidence. By implementing a Selfie Verification Badge, we are setting a new standard for security and authenticity in luxury dating.”
Verified members will receive a Selfie Verification Badge on their profiles, signaling their authenticity to others on the platform. Seeking.com also emphasized that all verification data is protected by advanced encryption and security protocols. Members have the option to request the deletion of their verification data at any time, ensuring full control over their personal information.
While all new users must complete the Selfie Liveness Check, long-standing members are exempt, as they have already demonstrated their authenticity over time. Given that Seeking.com is meant as a luxury dating platform, it’s no surprise that these kinds of security measures are now a standard precaution – but it remains to be seen whether more conventional dating sites will eventually adopt a similar approach, especially as realistic AI selfies become easier to produce for scam accounts.
