Tinder Names Monica Earle as Global Head of Communications

Tinder has appointed Monica Earle as its new Global Head of Communications. Earle, who most recently served as Director of Public Relations and Communications at Duolingo, joined the Match Group-owned dating app this month. She is based in New York.

In a LinkedIn post announcing the role, Earle said she was drawn to brands that are part of everyday culture and conversation. She noted that she met her husband on Tinder ten years ago. Earle described the position as an opportunity to tell a broader story about connection, community, trust, and the evolving role of technology in how people meet.

Prior to Duolingo, Earle spent time at Archetype. Tinder is Match Group’s largest platform, alongside Hinge, OkCupid, Match, and Plenty of Fish. The appointment comes as dating apps face ongoing challenges including user fatigue, competition from in-person meetups, and public scrutiny over safety and authenticity.

Communications leadership has become increasingly important for platforms navigating these issues. Effective messaging can help address concerns around ghosting, burnout, and algorithmic matching while highlighting product updates or safety initiatives. Earle’s experience at Duolingo, known for cultural relevance and viral campaigns, may support Tinder’s efforts to strengthen its brand narrative and public perception.
