The Grade’s Brand Ambassador Signs TV Deal With ABC


The dating ambassador for SNAP Interactive’s mobile product The Grade has just signed a new TV deal.

Lauren Urasek, dubbed “the most popular woman in online dating”, was hired as The Grade’s brand ambassador last year.

Urasek, who has authored a book called Popular: The Ups and Downs of Online Dating From the Most Popular Girl in New York City, also serves as a board member for The Grade.

And now Urasek has signed a TV deal with ABC Signature, to develop a series based on the book, which chronicles her experiences of online dating.

Speaking about the deal, the newly-appointed president of The Grade and SNAP co-founder Cliff Lerner, said: “We brought Lauren onto our Advisory Board and engaged her as a brand ambassador because we recognized her influential standing in the world of interactive dating. We are delighted to see her influence extended through her involvement with the television project at ABC Signature.”

“Lauren’s knowledge and insight into the shortcomings of existing online dating sites have been an essential resource in helping The Grade achieve its vision of creating a superior online dating community, and we’re excited to see her experiences come to life in the potential ‘Popular’ TV series.”

Urasek wrote her debut book after creating the popular Tumblr, which documents the trials and tribulations of online dating in the modern age, and has over 37,000 subscribers.

In January last year, New York Magazine named Lauren Urasek the most sought-after woman on OkCupid in New York City, saying she was receiving on average 35 messages a day.

Her book, Popular: The Ups and Downs of Online Dating From the Most Popular Girl in New York City, was released last October.
