Paktor Hires Meetic Execs To Lead Global Expansion
Asian dating app Paktor has hired two former Meetic executives to help spearhead its international expansion.
The app has welcomed a new Director of International Expansion, Jose Ruano, and Vice President of Marketing Miguel Mangas to the team, to lead its aggressive growth into international markets.
Both worked for Meetic’s Spain & Portugal team, Ruano as Managing Director, and Mangas as Online Marketing Director.
Both recently lost their jobs at Meetic, during a shakeup in the company that led to severe cuts to the IAC-owned company’s Spanish team.
And in an impressive move, Paktor has poached the executives, hoping their three decades of experience in the industry will help Paktor replicate its Asian success in new markets.
The CEO and co-founder of Paktor, Joseph Phua said: “Both Jose and Miguel have proven leadership skills and experience in the industry. Their expertise and passion in navigating and conquering new markets will be assets for us.
“We continue to build Paktor into a dominant player in the global dating scene and are excited to have both Jose and Miguel on board to help propel our growth beyond Asia.”
Both employees will be based in Spain, leading the app’s international efforts from Madrid.
Earlier this year, Paktor secured an extra $7.5m of Series B funding, taking the app’s total funding for the year to almost $12.3m.
