The gay social networking app, Scruff, has chosen PR firm MWW to represent them.
MWW, a top-five global independent PR firm, will focus on “strategic media relations and the leveraging of Scruff’s global community and audience to support various philanthropic outreach.”
Scruff focuses on being a social network and community for its users, and includes features like interest-based searching and nearby events listings.
The app launched in 2010 and has over 7m gay, bi and trans users worldwide, and half a million active daily members.
The CEO of MWW, Michael Kempner said:
“Its success can be attributed to its unique community, a compelling brand and an industry-leading technology platform.
“We are looking forward to working with the team at Scruff as the company continues to heighten its relevance through an integrated mix of earned media exposure and strategic philanthropic initiatives.”
Scruff chose MWW from 30 firms, which became a shortlist of 12, over a three month period.
Scruff want the PR firm to help them with pushes in Brazil and Europe.
