JournAlong is an app which will match travellers with other travellers and locals based on their common travel destinations and common interests.
The app also gives users a change to create meetups for different activities whilst travelling including surfing, hiking and meet ups for music lovers.
JournAlong’s website is now live and has expert bloggers that are avid travellers giving viewers recommendations of the app.
If users register on the website, they are then entered into a prize draw to win a trip to London.
The founder of the app, Moe Kakar, a UC Berkeley graduate and an avid traveller, said: “When I first started travelling outside of the US, I failed to get an authentic local experience. Only after years of travel experience, I made close local friends in different countries that enhanced my travel experience. I would like people to use JournAlong and immediately connect with locals and other interesting travellers so that they can have the best trip experience every time.”
JournAlong app will also offer users online travel games to keep them entertained whilst users are not out doing activities.
Kakar added: “Many people match on apps, however, often times it’s hard for these matches to strike cool conversations. JournAlong app will offer online travel games to people so that this could be an ice breaker, a cool conversation starter.”
The app is currently being developed by California based IT company, Smart IT Concepts, and will be out before Christmas.
