Christian Connection Founder Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Jackie Elton, the founder of dating site Christian Connection, has been presented with a Lifetime Achievement award from the Christian Singles Leaders Network. The award was in recognition of her work helping Christian singles find love and feel included.
Elton founded ChristianConnection.com in 2000 after seeing that singles did not have many opportunities to find Christian partners outside of church. The site now has over a million interactions each month, with surveys showing that the site is responsible for over 100,000 users finding love.
It also operates across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, United States, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and South Africa.
“It’s a great honour to receive this award, and it’s immensely satisfying to see so many people’s lives change through Christian Connection. It’s been an exciting journey”, said Elton.
In addition to her work on the dating site, the award recognises her work in founding Single Friendly Church. The organisation looks to make churches in the UK more inclusive for single people, as this demographic often report that they feel unwelcome there.
“We also need to ensure that churches become more aware of the needs of those who are single in the church and how to make their experience more fulfilling and more central to the life of the church. That’s why we also set up Single Friendly Church – to help make that happen”, she continued.
