Speaking to Cheddar, Coffee Meets Bagel founder Dawoon Kang has revealed that her company has been expanding its C-suite this year.
She says the app is going to “scale big time”, and has hired its first Chief Financial Officer and Chief Technology Officer.
The CFO role will be taken up by Quincy Yang, former Senior Director & Head of Business Communications at OpenTable, a restaurant reservations platform.
The CTO position is filled by Will Wagner, a Senior Technical Consultant at software company Hearsay Systems. He was one of the individuals to help SurveyMonkey scale at its inception.
Elsewhere in the interview, Kang described how women can often feel overwhelmed on dating apps when there are too many men vying for their attention. Men can also feel frustrated, as their efforts may not be reciprocated.
This is why Coffee Meets Bagel focuses in on quality and safety, attempting to create meaningful connections between its users.
The CEO notes how she communicates with consumers via Slack, getting feedback on product improvements to complement quantitative tests.
The company expects to achieve profitability next year.
