Former CEO of Elitepartner Invests in Go Crush

Go Crush, a startup dating app based in Germany, has welcomed the ex-CEO of Elitepartner as a new angel investor.

Dr. Jost Schwaner’s exact investment has not been disclosed but it is believed to be in the mid-five-figure range. He was apparently impressed by the app’s growing number of active users and well as positive user feedback.

Over 50,000 people use Go Crush, which is currently only available in Germany. The dating app encourages users to meet up in groups to eliminate some of the first date nerves and awkwardness.

Schwaner explained that the group meetup method makes Go Crush “optimal not only for singles, but also for people new to the city or business travellers.”

A statement from the Go Crush founders said: “We are delighted to have Jost Schwaner on board, one of the most experienced personalities in the German dating industry. He’ll be a big help in scaling Go Crush, and he knows exactly how to build up a community.”

They are aiming to raise another €500,000 in September, in addition to the €250,000 that they received in 2018.

Elitepartner is an online dating platform which is part of the Parship Elite Group. Owners ProSiebenSat.1 Media completed an $85 million acquisition of eharmony last November.
