Internet Star Cameron Dallas Joins IRLY App as Co-Founder

Cameron Dallas, an actor and social media star, has joined the team at dating app IRLY. The Canada-based startup provides users with in-app games and allows them to video chat with matches.

In an interview with Daily Hive, Dallas explained that he joined the platform because he feels he can bring something to the table and established apps “don’t really have the best pulse on what’s actually going on”.

Discussing the app’s features, he says “Games are an amazing way to break the ice for any scenario, right? If I go to a friend’s house… It’s a great way to meet people… It’s a great way to build connections… And it’s cool you get to see people’s personalities.”

He highlights that for users on apps such as Hinge and Bumble, “there are not a lot of ways to like break the ice”. Another issue he points out is catfishing, which he says thrives in text-based dating apps. IRLY and it’s video call capabilities will give users a better impression of their matches, he explains.

The platform has already received pre-seed investment from the co-founder of StockX and ex-Twitter leaders, the article shares. IRLY is yet to launch but interested users can sign up to its waiting list via its website.
