Global Dating Insights can announce that Luke Smith has been appointed as the publication’s new Editor.
He will be taking on the role full-time at the beginning of December, when Dom Whitlock steps down after more than three years at GDI.
Luke is a trained journalist from De Montfort University with a specialism in news reporting. After spending a short period working in public relations, he is excited to be returning to his true calling.
“I am delighted to be joining the Global Dating Insights team,” said Luke Smith. “The online dating industry is an incredibly fascinating and immersive space and I can’t wait to help shine a spotlight on all of the wonderful new developments!
“2022 is going to be a bumper year for us and I’m really looking forward to meeting the whole community at our industry-leading conferences and networking events!”
After missing out on a number of recent events due to global travel restrictions, GDI is returning to its full slate of conferences beginning with New York in March. This will be followed by Singapore in May, London in September and San Francisco for the first time in October.
There are also just two weeks to go until GDI Christmas Dating Drinks, the popular annual networking and social event which rounds off the year in style. Tickets are still available but spaces are limited.
Founder Simon Corbett added: “Dom will be sorely missed and we will always be grateful for the hard work he put in during his time with us, but I am thrilled to welcome Luke to the industry.
“He is the perfect person to take on the role and kick start one of the most exciting chapters in GDI’s history!”
