Match Group has set up an expert panel that will discuss how dating apps can ensure the utmost privacy and security for singles in Japan. The panel is being led by the Pairs team, Match Group’s leading product in the country.
They will have their first meeting on 22nd June and plan to get together two more times before the end of the year. Some of the items on the agenda include current safety measures, improved communication with users and overall organisation.
Kyoto University professor Masahiro Sogabe will chair the board and has previously worked as part of a study group on the “Improvement Of Youth Internet Environment”.
Also involved are internet education analyst Noriko Obana, lawyer specialising in online dating Taiki Nanami, and technology journalist Hiroshi Mikami.
Match Group put together its first ‘Advisory Council’ in the US midway through 2018 and the team has helped improve the safety measure to protect users from sexual harassment and abuse.
The Meet Group also operates with a ‘Safer Dating Advisory Board’ which features health experts to consult on dating products, provide safer dating guidance, and help shape the company’s pandemic response.
A few weeks ago Pairs announced a new community feature that allows users to talk before matching, as long as they share similar interests or hobbies.
