Match Group Preparing Application for Tax Rebate
Match Group is planning to apply to be classed as an “Enterprise Project”, which means the company would receive a major tax rebate.
Company representatives presented the case to Dallas City Hall on 6th August. They require a nomination from Dallas Council, where Match Group’s headquarters is based, before an application can be submitted to the state of Texas.
If Match Group is successful, it will be able to use the Texas Enterprise Zone Act to be refunded up to $2,500 for every job that has been created or retained.
A Dallas Council committee were ready to approve the case, but the progress has been halted by Kevin Felder, a council member.
Dallas News reported that Felder said: “I don’t have a problem with it, except I do want to make sure they have a robust [Minority and Women Businesses] program. If you don’t have MWBE inclusion, you will not get my vote.”
A Match Group representative has stated that they will provide the company’s policies on hiring minorities and women before the item goes to City Council.
Match Group has just released its Q2 2018 Financial Results.
