Matrimony.com Launches New Service For Professional Doctors

Matrimony.com has launched a new dedicated platform to help doctors look for their future spouses.

The sectioned, which is called DoctorsMatrimony, was created after the team noticed a 40% increase in the number of doctors registering over the past 3 years.

It will carry all of the same privacy, safety and filtering features from the rest of the Matrimony.com portfolio, but will only allow doctors to sign up and find partners from a similar field.

Murugavel Janakiraman, Matrimony’s founder and CEO, told Business Today: “Most doctors feel the need for a companion who understands their profession and shared values well and that seems possible when the life partner is also a doctor.”

“Through our current app, we have understood the unique preferences of the doctor community. Seeing lakhs of doctor couples find each other through our services over the past 20 years, it was but natural for us to launch DoctorsMatrimony.com.”

Flagship product BharatMatrimony introduced a brand new premium membership service at the end of last year, which allows users to fully verify their identity and therefore increase their chances of making compatible matches.

Matrimony.com reported its Q2 financial results at a similar time, which showed its final profit after tax had grown by 31% year-on-year. Janakirman explained that this was due to improved operational efficiency which resulted in a more sustainable business model.
