MeetMe and Snack Announce TikTok Integration to Help User Expression

TikTok, the viral, short-form video sharing app, has launched a new software development kit (SDK), that allows users to authenticate profiles on certain third party platforms with their account.

ParshipMeet Group is one of the new partners, introducing the update to MeetMe. Users can also add their most recent TikTok videos to their dating profile in a new Carousel function.

It’s hoped that this helps daters showcase their unique personalities in a richer way than just a profile picture and lead to stronger connections.

CEO of The Meet Group Geoff Cook explained in a statement: “Our partnership with TikTok furthers our mission to foster real and meaningful connections for our members. Long a home for creative self-expression, TikTok nurtures authentic, entertaining content and the diversity of experiences and communities through the shared language of video.

“The global pandemic has brought our human need for connection and community to the forefront, making clear the need for a richer dating experience. Members across our video community spend over one billion minutes per month engaging in livestreaming video. We are excited to bring TikTok’s authentic content to the MeetMe community.”

ParshipMeet Group added that it is hoping to facilitate additional TikTok integrations in the future.

A few other dating and social platforms are using the SDK, including Lolly and Snack. The latter was created by Kim Kaplan, an early executive at Plenty Of Fish, and was openly inspired by Gen Z’s obsession with TikTok.
