Papri Dev, Tinder’s APAC VP of Communications, Steps Down

Papri Dev has departed from her role as Vice President of Communications for Asia-Pacific at Tinder, concluding a five-year tenure marked by major brand-building efforts across the region. Dev, who was Tinder’s first hire in Singapore, played a pivotal role in establishing the app’s regional communications function and expanding its reach through localized campaigns and strategic initiatives.

During her time with Tinder and parent company Match Group, Dev built out the APAC communications team and agency network while spearheading integrated marketing and comms strategies across markets such as Japan, South Korea, Australia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. Her work was instrumental in reinforcing Tinder’s presence in these diverse and fast-growing user bases.

Among the most notable campaigns under Dev’s leadership were “School of Swipe” and the multilingual “Dating Safety Guide.” Both projects were tailored to resonate with regional audiences and eventually expanded to a global scale. She also launched Japan’s “Let’s Talk Gender” initiative, which focused on gender identity education, and APAC’s first regional dating study, Dating in APAC.

Reflecting on her contributions, Dev emphasized the importance of campaigns grounded in real consumer insight and purpose-led storytelling. She described APAC as “a diverse canvas with huge potential and talent,” and said she views her next steps as an opportunity to act as a global ambassador for the region.

Following her exit, Dev is now involved in independent advisory roles and exploring how AI technologies can enhance brand-building strategies. Her departure follows a broader leadership transition at Tinder, including the upcoming exit of CEO Faye Iosotaluno, who announced in June she would step down in July after nearly eight years at the company.
