Playdate Named Among UK’s Top Innovative Startups
The 2024 lineup for the UK’s longest running index of disruptive new startups has been released. Playdate, the dating app for single parents, has been named among these 100 new businesses which are demonstrating innovation and a strong following.
Produced annually by Startups.co.uk, the Startups 100 compiles “the pioneering UK startups that will be sparking change across every sector”, its website explains.
Included in this year’s list is Playdate, which serves single parents who are looking to find romantic connections. Released on UK app stores in 2021, the platform now has more than 50,000 users and has successfully raised pre-seed investment.
Founded by single mum Nevine Coutry, the dating platform had an exciting 2023 with the launch of its ad campaign on ITV, as well as the appointment of a former Bumble product manager as an advisor to its board.

In order to be considered for the list, businesses must have been launched within the last 5 years, must be based in the UK, and be privately owned. Featured businesses are selected by a panel of judges.
