Archer Launches Discover Feature
Archer has launched its Discover feature, allowing users to see photos and text-based posts in a new feed. This is an exciting step forward in the platform’s mission to be a social-first dating app.
Since its inception, Archer, the Match Group dating platform for gay, bisexual, and queer men, has wanted to do things differently. The platform looks to become more than a dating app by adopting social-first features which can foster friendship & romance.
After launching Prompts in December 2023, it has now launched its Discover feed.
When users share their latest thoughts and photos, they’re featured in this feed. Users are able respond to specific prompts, or choose their own captions to accompany their posts.
By being featured in the feed, regular posters will attract more attention. Furthermore it provides more opportunities for interaction as users can like and message directly when viewing posts in their feed.
Those using the Discover feed are spending almost 3x as much time on the app, Archer shared. This demonstrates that the social-first feature has led to greater engagement amongst these Archer users.
Michael Kaye, Director of Brand Marketing and Communications at Archer, told GDI that the dating platform takes a community-first approach, promoting a more positive vibe when it comes to connections among gay, bisexual, and queer men.
