Spark Networks has successfully migrated eDarling Spain into its new technical platform loveOS.
The plans are for the operating system to eventually host all of the Spark Networks premium and freemium apps. It will allow features and updates to be efficiently rolled out to the dating services, maintaining a consistent product across the entire portfolio.
CEO Jeronimo Folgueira said in a statement: “The ability to simultaneously deliver feature updates across our global portfolio is something we are very excited about.
“It also allows us to test and develop more innovative features faster, launch new dating products, brands and geographies with almost no additional cost, and integrate businesses that we acquire or partner with into our platform much faster.”
More than 1.5 million singles currently have a profile on eDarling Spain and the successful migration is being noted as a major milestone by the Spark Networks team.
The service is reportedly functioning “perfectly” on both app and mobile web platforms.
eDarling Spain was chosen as the test platform because Spain is Spark Networks’ fifth largest market by number of users; it therefore presented an ideal level of complexity.
Folgueira was interviewed by Cheddar earlier this week to discuss the recent completed acquisition of Zoosk. The takeover increased the total size of the Spark user base by approximately three times.
