The Meet Group has announced a brand new partnership with RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), one of the United States’ biggest anti-sexual violence organisations.
The collaboration will see the dating and live streaming umbrella help assist RAINN in building safer online communities, educating the public and improving policies. It also offers support to abuse survivors and ensures their attackers are brought to justice.
Catherine Connelly, co-founder and SVP of Marketing at The Meet Group, joins RAINN’s National Leadership Council. Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd is already part of the group.
Connelly expressed in a statement: “At The Meet Group, we pride ourselves on our commitment to mobile and online dating safety, and we are proud to announce our partnership with RAINN.
“Keeping our members safe is core to our mission of meeting the universal need for human connection, and we believe that through this partnership we can help drive meaningful progress in the fight against harassment, sexual assault, violence, and more.”
The Meet Group has furthered its commitment to user safety over the past 12 months, forming several partnerships to make its platforms as safe as possible.
This includes teaming up with UrSafe to offer a 60-day free subscription to the personal safety app. It gives users several tools to help them stay safe on offline dates, such as live location broadcasting and voice-activated SOS alerts.
In December, Match Group started to work with RAINN to review the way it deals with sexual assaults, after a third-party investigation found that the majority of reports go unanswered.
