An AI chatbot developed by OpenAI went viral recently with the program creating everything from essay responses to casual conversations. However, Tinder users are now taking advantage of the AI’s intelligence to help write messages to their matches.
A new article from Mashable highlights instances where Tinder users discuss their experiences with the ChatGPT system. One Tinder user posted a TikTok explaining how he used the AI system to write a poem for his match, saying it was “THE FUTURE OF TINDER”.
Mashable found another example where a dating app user asked ChatGPT to write a gym-related opening line. The AI came up with “Do you mind if I take a seat? Because watching you do those hip thrusts is making my legs feel a little weak”.
Various ethical issues are raised, including whether users should disclose that messages are being written by AI. If this dating strategy continues to be helpful for Tinder users, will daters have another form of catfishing to worry about?
