TikTok Launches AI Literacy and Detection Resources
The company has released an AI literacy guide developed in partnership with the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) and AI expert Henry Ajder. The guide includes video explainers to help users identify AI-generated content. TikTok also plans to launch an in-app learning hub in the coming weeks that will teach practical detection skills when users search for AI-related terms.
Additionally, TikTok is expanding funding for external AI literacy programs, including NoFiltr and the Raspberry Pi Foundation, to promote education through platform content.
On the enforcement side, the company is enhancing its detection systems to identify AI-generated spam and misinformation, particularly in areas such as politics, current events, financial advice, and medical content. TikTok reported removing more than 86 million fake accounts in the first three months of 2026. It will test improved detection for accounts dedicated to posting AI-generated spam.
The platform has labeled over 3 billion videos as AI-generated content (AIGC) using Content Credentials, creator labeling tools, and invisible watermarking technology. It plans to expand labeling partnerships.
