Whitney Wolfe Herd to Speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2020

Whitney Wolfe Herd has been announced as one of the headline guests for September’s TechCrunch Disrupt conference.

The annual event brings together thousands of founders, investors and developers who are involved in the startup technology industry to learn more about the latest trends and relevant topics.

TechCrunch Disrupt usually takes place in San Francisco, but this installment will be exclusively virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bumble and MagicLab CEO will be talking about how she got started and what the future holds for the online dating industry.

Last week, it was announced that MagicLab will be rebranded as Bumble, in an effort to unify its mission of equality and empowerment. The move will see Bumble have more control over Badoo, which has five times as many users as the female-first app.

Bumble recently added a new social-distancing dating feature to help people get back onto offline dates. The feature allows users to add a note to their profile to show whether or not they’re comfortable with meeting in person.

Other notable confirmed speakers for TechCrunch Disrupt, which will run 14th-18th September, include actress and activist Kerry Washington and Zoom’s CPO Oded Gal.
