BiCupid Develops AI Tool to Block Unsolicited Nude Images

BiCupid, a leading dating platform for bisexual individuals, has launched AI Detect – a new feature designed to automatically block unwanted nude images. The tool aims to enhance user safety by filtering explicit content before it reaches recipients’ inboxes.

Unsolicited explicit images have long been a concern for online daters, particularly women. A recent survey conducted by BiCupid found that 87% of female users had received unwanted nude photos on other dating platforms. AI Detect addresses this issue by using advanced image recognition technology to scan and flag potentially explicit content in messages.

If an image is detected as inappropriate, the sender is alerted that their message does not comply with BiCupid’s guidelines. Meanwhile, the recipient is given the option to view or block the image, with the default setting blurring the content. This approach ensures that users maintain control over their interactions while discouraging the unsolicited sharing of explicit images.

BiCupid’s introduction of AI Detect also challenges misconceptions about bisexual individuals, particularly the stereotype that they are more open to sexually explicit content. This tends to be part of the reason that they are targeted with unwanted images so often – and this tool can not only protect them, but possibly prevent that stereotype from ruining their dating experience.
