Bumble CFO and CMO Step Down Ahead of New Growth Plans
Bumble is undergoing significant leadership changes as it prepares for its next phase of growth. The company recently announced the upcoming departures of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Anu Subramanian and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Selby Drummond, alongside the appointment of Neil Shah as its new Chief Business Officer.
Anu Subramanian, who has served as CFO since 2020, will step down in March 2025. She has been instrumental in Bumble’s evolution, including its successful 2021 IPO and subsequent global expansion. Lidiane Jones, CEO of Bumble Inc, has praised Anu for creating “a strong finance organisation that has supported the Company’s growth and financial discipline, propelling consistent margin improvement and cash generation over the past several years”.
Selby Drummond, who joined Bumble in 2020, will depart in January 2025 to pursue new opportunities. As CMO, Drummond was key in strengthening Bumble’s global brand, specifically by pushing for more marketing strategies that reinforced the kindness, safety and respect that Bumble dates were able to offer new users. As Lidiane Jones states, “Under her leadership, the Bumble brand has become well known and respected around the globe”.
To bolster its strategic direction, Bumble has introduced Neil Shah as Chief Business Officer. Shah, a technology industry veteran with experience at Slack and Twitter, will oversee revenue growth, pricing strategies, and partnerships. These leadership changes mark a pivotal moment for Bumble, and could be enough of a shake-up to drastically alter the future of the platform.
