Tinder Reveals Year In Swipe 2024 Report

Tinder has released its 2024 Year In Swipe report, which goes over some of the more notable trends and social details about how their audience have behaved and changes throughout the year. The full report goes into detail on a number of key trends that stand out from last year’s report, and could give some insight into how Tinder’s user base has been changing as attitudes towards dating undergo some major shifts.

Some notable trends include things like more and more singles using the “looking for…” format in their Tinder bios, meaning that users are more eager to find specific partners and are actively building profiles that are meant to draw in compatible partners. More than half of the surveyed signals were setting boundaries upfront and being open about their wishes, although a decent majority were also mistaking green flags for red flags and creating mixed signals.

The report also predicts that smaller-scale relationships – dubbed “nanoships” – will become more prominent in 2025. These micro-connections are things like users that text you good morning every day, or people that you occasionally have coffee chats with, and are something that Tinder seem eager to emphasise as a good way for users to stay positive during their hunt for a good match.

Most importantly, almost a quarter of the platform’s users are choosing limited and carefully-chosen connections in pursuit of a meaningful relationship. 60% of all surveyed singles have been using friends as sources of dating advice, with 20% using them to directly pre-screen dates by looking over their social media. Almost 50% of surveyed users plan to keep using their friends as a backbone of their dating experience going into 2025 and beyond.

The full report contains a lot more in-depth information, from top trends and social cause topics to the dominant user interests and the emojies that saw the most use. While some of this migght only be meant for fun, it’s clear that Tinder’s user base has changed quite drastically from last year’s report.
