European Dating App Breeze Expands to the U.S
Breeze, a dating app designed to prioritize in-person connections over endless swiping, has officially announced its launch in the United States, starting with New York City as its “entry point” into the nation. The platform, which has gained traction across Europe since its debut in 2020, aims to counteract online dating fatigue by encouraging users to set up real-life dates immediately after matching.
The app, which has already facilitated over 300,000 dates in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the U.K., and France, differentiates itself by eliminating in-app messaging entirely. Instead, users receive a limited number of curated matches each day and are prompted to schedule a date at one of Breeze’s partnered bars and restaurants. Notable venues in New York include Romeos, The Seville, and Juliette Restaurant, among others.
Breeze’s business model also sets it apart from traditional dating platforms. Rather than relying on subscriptions or selling user data, the company charges only when users successfully arrange a date.
With New York as its starting point, Breeze’s expansion into the U.S. could be a major step up for the platform, opening it up to a whole new market and allowing it to potentially weave its way into a similar niche as with its European audience.
