Info Edge Finalizes Acquisition of Dating App Operator Aisle
Info Edge has strengthened its presence in India’s rapidly expanding online dating ecosystem with its latest move: the complete acquisition of Aisle Network Private Limited. The company’s matchmaking subsidiary, Jeevansathi Internet Services, has purchased the remaining 3.65% stake in Aisle for Rs. 5.50 crores ($621,000 USD), giving Info Edge full ownership of the multi-app dating portfolio.
The deal includes the purchase of and the formal conclusion of earlier agreements with the seller. With the transaction finalized, Aisle becomes a step-down wholly owned subsidiary of Info Edge, joining a lineup of digital brands that includes Naukri, Jeevansathi, and 99acres.
Aisle Network operates a cluster of dating apps – Aisle, Anbe, Arike, Neetho, and Jalebi – targeting different linguistic and cultural segments of the Indian market. The company has been known for positioning itself between casual swipe-based platforms and traditional matrimonial services, appealing to users seeking “high-intent” dating.
Financial disclosures indicate a mixed picture for Aisle. The company reported Rs. 39.62 crores ($4.4M USD) in turnover, but recorded a loss of Rs. 17.80 crores ($2M USD) and a net worth of Rs. 20.86 crores ($2.35M USD) in the latest available fiscal data. Despite this, Info Edge’s decision to solidify its ownership signals confidence in the long-term potential of India’s premium dating segment.
