TikTok Launches 2026 Community Fest Focused on Livestream Creators

TikTok has announced details for its 2026 Community Fest, the third annual event aimed at supporting livestream creators. Running as a summer-long series starting June 11, the program includes educational workshops, in-app competitions, and community celebrations centered on live broadcasting.

A central element is the first Community Fest Creator Academy, a global workshop series streamed on TikTok’s dedicated live accounts. The curriculum covers three areas: Live 101 for technical basics, The Art of Connection for engaging audiences quickly, and Building Your Community for using tools and campaigns to grow dedicated followers. The sessions feature insights from established creators.

TikTok is also introducing Match Mania, a global livestream tournament where viewers support competing creators through friendly competition to unlock rewards. The event is designed to encourage more creators to experiment with livestreaming and strengthen fan connections.

The initiative reflects TikTok’s continued push to expand livestreaming beyond its success in China. On the domestic Douyin platform, livestreaming has become a major driver of engagement and revenue, with 833 million viewers as of December 2024 – accounting for 75.2% of the country’s web users.

TikTok is seeking to replicate some of this momentum in other markets. Community Fest serves as a promotional effort to increase interest in live content and potentially support future live commerce opportunities.
