Tinder and TikTok Partner for Double Date Island Series
Tinder and TikTok have announced a partnership to launch the reality dating series “Double Date Island” on TikTok this summer. The collaboration marks Tinder’s first major European partnership with a platform of TikTok’s scale for a long-form reality format.
The series is built around Tinder’s “Double Date” feature, which pairs users with a friend to match with other pairs. It follows groups of best friends from multiple countries, including the US, Brazil, Australia, the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Germany, who travel to Portugal for shared dating experiences. The format emphasizes collaborative, pressure-free connections in a travel-based setting. All participants are 18 and over, and selected talent will appear as hosts.
Production involves Studio 55 (part of ITV Studios), Cowshed Studios, and distribution support from Zoo 55. Tinder’s EMEA agency OMD is handling media planning. The series will be available exclusively on TikTok for users aged 18 and over.
Tinder VP Marketing EMEA Paolo Lorenzoni described the partnership as a shared statement on authentic, social-first experiences. TikTok’s Kris Boger highlighted creators’ role in discovery and engagement. Will Scougal from ITV Studios noted the format’s alignment with platforms where young adults connect.
Tinder has opened an international casting call for friend duos to participate. The project represents Tinder’s effort to extend its brand into entertainment and cultural conversation beyond the app – and given that more and more users are seeking unconventional ways to meet matches rather than simply standard dating app setups, this kind of media could be surprisigly effective as both a marketing tool and something that could be leveraged as a way to connect its fans, too.
