Yoke Launches as LinkedIn-Style Dating App for Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneur Lorene Cowan, known for ventures like The Experts Tribe and All Things Office Space, has announced the launch of Yoke, a dating app designed specifically for entrepreneurs. Yoke is meant to be a platform that creates both professional and personal relationships, aiming for the often-overlooked market of entrepreneurs and business managers with very busy schedules.

Inspired by Cowan’s own experiences in entrepreneurship and dating, Yoke was directly based on the challenge involved in finding love while also being highly connected to (and responsible for running) your own business. Rather than just being a dating site with a specific focus in mind, the platform is meant to be a secure and exclusive environment where entrepreneurs can build professional relationships – without romance being off the table entirely.

According to Cowan, part of the inspiration for the platform was LinkedIn: more specifically, the fact that LinkedIn largely discourages romance even in private messages. This left a gap open for a professional social site that would also permit users to spark up a relationship – something that Yoke was specifically designed to provide.

Yoke is currently still in its pre-launch stages, with its site hosting only an About page and a link to a waiting list. The launch is planned for October 29th, a day that Cowan has claimed as “National Entrepreneurial Romance Day” to celebrate the platform’s launch.
