FROM THE WEB: Using Chatbots To Explore Dating App Interactions

Chatbots are fast becoming a major problem for online daters, as technology develops and it becomes harder to differentiate between who is real and who is not.

A recent article on Mashable looks at an online application that simulates conversations that women might have with men, in both online and offline scenarios.

Created by two design and technology MFA students at The New School, d.Bot seeks to “explore chatbots and artificial intelligence”, whilst sharing a social message about problematic interactions between men and women.

The post, written by technology writer Alicia Marie Tan, outlines the experiences of a number of people who had engaged in conversation with D.bot, reflecting on just how “real” a chatbot can appear.
