FROM THE WEB: New Cupid CEO Phil Gripton Interview with The Herald
Phil Gripton, the new CEO of Cupid, said in an interview with The Herald of Scotland that a “new era” is to begin for the Edinburgh-based online dating site.
Gripton took over after the former chief executive of Cupid and co-founder, Bill Dobbie, stepped down following a difficult year for the company, which included losses of £2.8m
Gripton, who was previously managing director of dating services at Cupid, told the Herald: “The process is about simplifying the things and focusing on key markets”.
Cupid will be directed towards new regions including the UK, US, Germany and France, with less attention paid to the Nordic countries.
The new CEO of Cupid also stressed that the customer is very important for the new leadership of the dating site.
“I made sure that we had a very strong push on focusing on the customer. I did not feel we had that enough”, he said.
