India Becomes Hinge’s Second-Largest Market
India has become Hinge’s second-largest market by downloads and registrations, behind only the U.S. It is also the dating app’s third-largest market by monthly active users. Hinge entered India in 2015 and has grown largely organically, but Match Group now plans to increase marketing spend in India.
CEO Jackie Jantos told Fortune India that Hinge is seeing more young Indians take control of finding their own partners, while family and shared values remain important. India’s dating app market is growing quickly. It recorded around 205 million dating app downloads in 2025, while Grand View Research valued the market at $547.9 million in 2023 and expects it to reach $1.02 billion by 2030.
Hinge is also adding more safety and privacy features in India. These include Face Check, screenshot protection and a Block List that lets users avoid family members, colleagues and ex-partners.
Hinge’s global revenue grew 22% year-on-year to $203.5 million in Q2 2026, while paying users increased 17% to 2 million. Fewer than 15% of its global monthly active users pay for subscriptions or other products. In India, Hinge+ costs ₹1,199 a month ($12.50/month) and HingeX ₹1,499 ($15.60/month). Match Group expects Hinge to reach $1 billion in annual revenue in 2027.
