For the second year running, NBA team the Atlanta Hawks are planning a Tinder-themed Swipe Right Night.
Next Saturday March 19th, the Hawks will host the Houston Rockets at the Philips Arena, and attendees will get the chance to swipe and meet other basketball fans while watching the game.
When the team debuted the idea last January, fans were encouraged to swipe right on the dating app throughout the game, and in the arena, the team set up designated areas for people who matched on the dating app to meet — called the Swipe Right Suite.
And after the successful first night, which generated a lot of good press and attention on social media, the NBA team has decided to try the idea again.
Speaking about last year’s Swipe Right Night, Hawks CEO Steve Koonin said: “Last January’s ‘Swipe Right Night’ was a national sensation and allowed a broad audience to experience the creativity and fun of our brand.
“This year’s ‘Swipe Right 2.0’ ushers in the official start of spring, and love will be in the air at Philips Arena. This night’s amazing game experience will help our fans make, in the words of our partners at Tinder, ‘new friends, dates, relationships, and everything in between.’”

Last year singles also began taking part in the night, posting selfies with their Tinder matches using the hashtag #SwipeRightATL.
Speaking about their relationship with live events like this – something Tinder hasn’t been hugely involved with so far – the Hollywood company’s CMO Phil Schwarz said:
“Tinder is a perfect fit for live events. We know that combining Tinder with the electric energy inside Philips Arena for ‘Swipe Right 2.0’ will create an amazing social environment for fans to meet while enjoying the game. We are excited to be partnering with the Hawks once again to bring fans something totally unique.”
Those who match with people on the dating app can get into the Super Like and Swipe Right lounges, access to which is limited to guests who have downloaded the mobile app on their smartphones.
And this year, the club has decided to add more “glam stations”, multiple hosts, a new retail component and extra areas in the stadium where fans can meet up with their Tinder matches in person.
The Hawks are offering a “Swipe Right” ticket package at Hawks.com/swiperight which starts at $70 for two seats.
