Hinge has integrated with Uber’s newly released API to allow in-chat taxi pickups.
When a Hinge user shares a location while messaging in the dating app, you just click “Ride there with Uber” to order a car.
From here a screen pops up listing your various choices, with pickup times and prices.
On the return journey, you just request a pickup location as you normally would on Uber.
Uber released their API on 20th August, opening it up so all developers can integrate the taxi service into their apps.
Hinge was one of the first 11 companies Uber launched the API with, along with Expensify, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Momento, OpenTable, Starbucks Coffee Company, Tempo Smart Calendar, Time Out, TripAdvisor, TripCase and United Airlines.
They also released their Affiliate Program, allowing developers to earn credits towards free Uber rides.
Uber said: “As excited as we are about this launch, we’re truly just getting started. Our team will continue working to add functionality, provide support, address feedback and deliver even more value to our developers.”
