Betterhalf Raises $8.5 Million in Series A Round
Betterhalf, which calls itself “India’s first marriage super app”, has raised $8.5 million in a recent Series A funding round. Investors include former leaders from Bumble, Spotify, Uber, Instagram and more.
In a recent statement, Betterhalf announced that investors include Mike Krieger, co-founder of Instagram; Arash Ferdowsi, Co-Founder of Dropbox; Derek Callow, former CMO of Bumble; Brendan O’Driscoll, former Product Head at Spotify; and Manik Gupta, former CPO at Uber.
“It is through our continued growth momentum across all categories that Betterhalf has achieved impressive growth in the market”, said Pawan Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of Betterhalf.
“Our razor focus on becoming the super app of matrimony & full stack tech-enabled wedding services will drive our next set of growth & I would like to thank all our investors for being part of our growth journey”, Gupta continued.

The $8.5 million raised follows the $3 million brought in during the Pre-Series A funding round held in March 2022.
Betterhalf offers online matchmaking features, but also conveniently provides wedding-specific services. These include photography, venue booking, and DJ hire. It also recently launched an app enabling people to speak with astrologers, helping them sort out life problems.
The platform is seeing impressive growth, with a 3 times rise in its overall users in the last nine months. Over the past 6 months, it saw its annual revenue double, with 17% month-on-month growth.
