Bumble Hosts Taco Tuesday Fundraising Event in Florida
Bumble has teamed up with a Mexican restaurant in Tampa Bay, Florida to raise money for a local charity.
The ‘Taco Tuesday with a Twist’ event was held on October 30th at Nueva Cantina. Bumble representatives were handing out free Tacos and drinks to those in attendance.
The social app was taking donations to raise money for Central Academy Youth Soccer Association, a programme that helps underprivileged children by getting them into football.
The first 30 people to arrive received a goodie bag containing some Bumble branded products.
There was also an opportunity to check out author Jessica Bennet’s book ‘Feminist Fight Club: A Survival Manual for a Sexist Workplace’.
A post made on the Bumble Tampa Facebook page said: “Taco Tuesday with at Twist was a success! We made new friends, and new baes.
“We raised money for a local non-profit, ate tacos, and drank margaritas! This is what it’s all about, connecting, empowering, uplifting one another and our community at the same time!”
The following night, Whitney Wolfe Herd and Priyanka Chopra hosted a special dinner to celebrate Bumble’s launch in India.
Bumble hosts a number of real life events to try and get its users communicating in person. Wolfe Herd recently revealed plans to expand the Bumble Hive events in 2019.
