Bumble to Throw Nightclub Party in Glasgow

Bumble is hosting a club night in Glasgow on 11th July, in association with events company DICE.

The Thursday night party at Sub Club will feature performances from unique female DJs and performers until the 3am curfew.

Techno artist Louisahhh is due to kick off the night, before dance producer La Fleur plays the middle set. Veteran DJ and singer Kittin is the night’s headliner, boasting an array of hits from a 20+ year career.

Users in the city who want to attend the one-off event need to match with the in-app branded DICE profile and follow directions from there.

Last month, the female-first social app launched a new competition to try and address the issue of gender imbalance in the music industry.

Aspiring musicians who submit demos of themselves performing to Bumble Bizz will be in with a chance of winning. Prizes include a mentoring session with a successful female artist and an opportunity to perform at one of the world’s biggest festivals.

The ‘Making Moves in Music’ contest was another Bumble-led initiative to uncover talented female electronic music producers. The winner was Dutch DJ Nicky Elisabeth, who went on to perform at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

Bumble is focusing on providing opportunities for women in the music industry because only 19% of performers at major festivals in 2018 were female.
